Summary
At the bottom of the lake Alicia finds the Waterfall Slicer lodged in a giant ancient beast. She returns to the surface with it and leaves the remaining bandits to be devoured. Klen defeats Betty but is annoyed that Alicia never told him humans could use sorcery.
Vroko tries to flee with Luna. When Luna’s crying lashes out with raw magic, Vroko realizes the baby has a rare talent and takes him as a hostage, hiding behind sorcery. Alicia tracks him by sound and kills him. Nell is dying, and Klen can only keep one person alive with his blood, so Alicia gives up her share. Both of them are revived: Nell is rebuilt in a new body and named Nelluru.
