Elro Romain is a Cardinal of the Eld religion who has served as headmaster of the Solsein Seminary for nineteen years. Eslinn’s records describe him as a devout priest with no involvement in magic until he met Drel and took the Solsein post, and he was expected to become the next Pope.
The “headmaster” seen during the Solsein arc, who prays in the underground chapel, holds a Book of Toa and runs the trials, is in fact Princess Milea wearing a copy of Romain’s face. She had pulled the real Romain into the mirror. What became of the real Romain is unclear. After the incident the blame was placed on the “missing Chancellor”. When the holy sites of the legend were restored, an injured old priest, possibly Romain, was seen watching the change and murmuring “Finally”.
