The Eld religion (Eldism) is the oldest religion in the history of the Dorn lands. Its doctrine is that all people of Edthea should praise the One God; “Edthea” means the land of God and “Eld” the people who live there. Its symbol is the sun bestowing blessings on the earth.
Its headquarters is the holy site Seilia in Esleburg, capital of Eslinn, which has rights of independence that not even the king can override. Eld priests may cross borders freely, under an iron rule of separation of church and state. The Solsein Seminary is one of its holy places.
The doctrines are recorded in sacred texts said to have been left by God, which only the Pope can read; no one else knows how many volumes exist. They contain a passage about heroes defeating the four Devil Beast Kings and leading the people to a new world, which matches the Legend of the Hero. At Solsein the “headmaster” claimed that the word of God is the word of the ancient Toa. Headmaster Elro Romain was expected to become the next Pope.
