Summary
Alicia learns that the monster, the Chimera Queen, makes the puppets from kidnapped orphan babies, and that the cult plans to use their souls and those of the students to revive the hero. The false headmaster traps her in a Mirror Prison. Laswell confronts Vordin about the past and they fight, until Vordin takes a human form and shows him instead. Vordin repairs the damaged door and enters the shrine. Inside the prison, Alicia finds a sword in the belly of an ancient beast, cuts her way out and kills the Chimera Queen.
In Hiden the furnace has returned, and Luna, who can now speak, greets Klen. Four other ancient sites appear across the world, all tied to the legend. Drel’s prison shatters and Klen regains his full power. With Luna’s help he enters the Mirror Labyrinth through the furnace. Alicia is caught in a second Mirror Prison and must fight an image of her father, Margo, while Vordin begins reviving the hero and goes to meet Klen.
