Ultimate treasures are the masterpiece weapons forged by the King of Hiden himself, working three days and nights without rest. With roughly seven parts magic steel to three of iron, they are second to none among magic swords and raise their wielder’s abilities to the limit. They are given only to heroes recognized by the king. Many end up stolen from dead heroes in devil beast territory or sold, and the late king had stopped forging them for fifteen years before choosing his thirteen heroes.
Properties
An ultimate treasure is a vessel for souls. The first great monster it slays completes it, giving the weapon that creature’s individuality and power. Some treasures choose their wielder: Snow Flower freezes anyone unworthy who touches it. Alicia’s family talent, “hearing the voice of the sword”, lets her draw out more of a treasure’s power than others. The King’s Hammer is the only tool that can forge and break them.
