Gart is a devil beast from the Grand Forest of the West and a servant of Zavthier. He is one of the few devil beasts able to change shape and speak the human language, which is why Zavthier, who looks down on humans, sends him to investigate their lands.
Appearance
In human form Gart is a young man with spiky hair, a mark on his forehead, a ponytail and a white cape with a striped scarf. He can sprout claws and wings, and his true form is a huge eagle-like bird with long antenna feathers.
History
Young devil beasts were vanishing from the western forest, and Zavthier suspected humans. Hearing rumors of a small man controlling a western troll, Gart tracked Vroko’s hideout and attacked “Klen”, believing he was involved. His kicks cut through the air without touching their target, and he was only stopped when Clevatess revealed one of his bladed tails and claimed to be the servant of a Devil Beast King.
He later investigated Drel’s army, found the sealed Clevatess at the river and carried Rhode Royes to Hiderat. At Solsein he serves Sarasa and trades information with Rhode, flies Zavthier’s avatar around the mist, rescues Rhode from Andrew Whip and recognizes the shrunken Alicia. He acts as Alicia’s interpreter while she is trapped in a beast’s body.
