Summary
Jazhak and his men watch the battle from outside the school. Gart translates for Alicia so she can tell Rhode what she knows. That night the twins disguise themselves as cultists and sneak into an underground gathering, joined by Edison. The cult is the Union, whose members come from all three nations and want to recreate the Legend of the Hero.
Its leader, the headmaster, removes his mask: he is Milea. A flashback shows how, after her mother’s death, Milea followed Drel and was told to speak to the mirror in her room, where Vordin took hold of her. Drel gave her a Book of Toa and taught her to use it. Back in the present, Alicia asks Rhode to destroy the headmaster’s Book, then jumps into a crack in the world to reach the secret chamber.
