Shiron

A woodworking town in Hiden near the Mineshaft of Elbe.

Shiron is a town of woodworkers north-east of Hiderat, two days from the capital and the closest town to the Mineshaft of Elbe. Moon Mountain can be seen from it. Its watermill was built by the townsfolk’s ancestors over two hundred years ago, and the iron beds of its inn were a gift from the king for chairs made for the castle.

Residents

  • Kari, the landlady of the inn, who recognized Luna as a pure-blooded Hidenean.
  • Mark, her husband and leader of the town’s vigilantes, marked with a facial scar.
  • Phil and Pete, their sons.

History

After Alicia destroyed the Crows, the townsfolk hanged the surviving bandits. When Meynard Swann surrounded the town with insects and branded Alicia a traitor, the townspeople hunted her by torchlight. In the watermill Mark asked whether the heroes had seen beyond the world; Alicia’s answer, that the world has no end, won them over, and they protected Nelluru and Luna, calling the baby “the future of this country”. Meynard’s moth larvae devoured the mill and much of the forest before Alicia destroyed the swarm, and Meynard stabbed Mark. The townsfolk later captured Naie and saw Alicia off to Hiderat.
