Ray Forrester is a fifth-year student of the Solsein Seminary and its strongest mage. He has curly white-blond hair and triangle marks in his eyes. Clevatess compares him to a volcano hiding magma.
Background
Ray grew up in an orphanage for war orphans run by Princess Milea and was transferred to Solsein for his grades. His best friend was Shiro Kleitos, a merchant’s son who dreamed of becoming the fourteenth hero, while Ray dreamed of becoming the great sage who guides the hero. Shiro died when Clevatess destroyed Hiderat.
Abilities
Ray is one of the few students who passed the second trial, giving him two runes:
- Summon Lightning: calls lightning without chanting (“Lightning Dash”, “Lightning Blade”).
- State Acceleration: accelerates speed, recovery and reactions, and in its strongest form (“Conditional Acceleration”) everything in an area not touching his body.
He also uses crest-formula chanting such as “Shira” (condensing rain clouds) and “El” (wind).
History
Ray dueled the twins Tygel and Leon on the exchange students’ first day. During the night of the black tower the Chancellor promised him recognition as Drel’s successor if he defeated “Cren”. He charged the tower, and Clevatess showed him the face he wore and his true form, admitting he had killed Shiro. Ray froze Clevatess with Conditional Acceleration, giving Vordin’s avatar the chance to steal the Book of the Furnace, then collapsed. Clevatess spared his life.
