Yuriel Esliel is the King of Eslinn. The youngest son of the former king, who retired, he is still a boy but wears the mitre-like crown and scepter of his office and plays politics with ease. He reigns from Elden Castle in Esleburg.
At the three-nation conference he insisted on a round table, revealed what Eslinn had learned about Drel’s experiments on infants and devil beasts, and proposed the two-year ceasefire in exchange for Drel’s research. Emperor Beis called him “the biggest opportunistic thief”, suspecting he had timed Eslinn’s reinforcements to let Drel exhaust himself.
Yuriel sent Rhode Royes and Miquel Mendes undercover to Solsein, and the troublesome twins Tygel and Leon Blouyer as exchange students to hide that purpose. Learning that the headmaster was likely to become the next Pope, he ordered the Sword Saint Owen Koath to take five hundred soldiers to Hiden.
