The Union is a secret society of hooded mages that meets beneath the main building of the Solsein Seminary. It dates back to the time when magic was nothing more than street-performance trickery, and its goal has always been to perfectly reproduce the spells of the Legend of the Hero. Its members include advisors to the magic ministries of Boelate and Eslinn, mayors and priests, and they treat wars between nations as chances to test magic. Vroko resented a union of sorcerers that had mocked him.
Led by Princess Milea in the guise of the Chancellor and guided by Vordin, the Union considered the Books of Toa to be holy scripture and the origin of the human race. It gathered the books, developed “soul vessels” from the remains of infants and devil beasts, and collected fragments of the hero Wright’s soul in order to resurrect him. Vordin killed several Union members when he entered the Chamber.
