Edthea is the continent on which the humans (“hominids”, as the devil beasts call them) of Clevatess live. Its name is said to mean “the land of God” in the Eld religion.
Geography
The human lands are hemmed in on every side by the territories of the four Devil Beast Kings: Clevatess in the south, Zavthier in the west, Laswell in the east and Vordin in the north. Each King blocks humans from passing in his own way, and the five races do not know what lies beyond. Alicia, thrown into the sky by Clevatess, is the first person in living memory to glimpse it: an endless, round horizon.
The Black Sea lies to the north-west and the North Sea to the north. The great Dorn River flows north to south through the central plains, dividing Eslinn in the west from Boelate in the east. Hiden sits in the southern mountains that shield the continent from the devil beasts’ land, Orgg lies in the great western forest, Slada is an island nation in the eastern sea and Bent occupies the eastern wastelands.

History
Much of Edthea’s past is unknown, and many things, such as the hero legend and the Ancient Bridge, are attributed to “the ancients”. More than 1,100 years ago the north of the continent, beyond today’s coast, was the heart of Toa, a civilization of a higher human race that ruled the others as slaves. It was destroyed in the war between the summoned heroes and the Devil Beast Kings, and its capital sank into the sea. The present nations grew up in the centuries that followed.
