Summary
Alicia passes through the cracks, regains her normal body and, with Klen’s help, frees herself at the bottom of a cavern. Without Klen’s further help she explores a torture chamber, where she finds the real Milea bound in a chair. The black tower falls, and Zavthier tells Klen that Vordin is obsessed with the hero he last fought.
The false headmaster summons Vordin, who hands over Klen’s Book. With all five Books of Toa the cult enters the Mirror Labyrinth, where Drel alone had been allowed. Five doors open onto the places the Books were found, and the first leads to the shrine where the hero’s body lies. Alicia defeats the puppets sent after her and escapes with Milea, who explains that her reflection stole her life and trapped her here. They meet the twins in a hall of mirrors, but the floor gives way and Alicia falls, saving Milea, into a pit with a giant insect monster.
